pay it forward

I'll have forgotten about it by then!! So get commenting! not sure what the gift will be yet. Oh and I forgot to say,you have to pay it forward and do the same. I haven't been sewing as I am trying to finish reading this book Shantaram.

It is for a book club I belong to and I need to finish it by next week and it is 936 pages long. I am on 460 so not even half way, so sewing is on hold. although I do have things to be doing, 2 baby cards to make etc etc.

Lily goes shopping for furniture

Lily didn't know she needed new furniture but when she stumbled across this art deco sofa and armchairs she couldn't resist.

Now she wants me to make her cushions for the seats. She also needs some friends!!

I bought this poster off etsy, I think I need to take the advice!

I also bought some spotty fabric for my 'birdie' skirt, Lucylocket told me of a site, I ordered some fabric but it is always difficult to tell what fabric is like on the computer. when it came it wasn't what I wanted, but today I bought some Kaffe Fassett spotty fabric and I added it on but haven't quite finished it.

happy easter

Happy easter everyone, I hope you all got lots of choccie eggs. i have nearly finished my skirt (see previous post) just waiting for some spotty fabric to finish the hem. Also decided to make a needle/pin holder, I have wanted to make one for ages, just didn't get around to it:

These will be in my etsy shop soon, along with other designs.

This is our real rabbit, he is called chocolate but we call him choccie for short, so he is a chocolate bunny.

We won't be eating him though. Thought I would also show you my lovely new spotty flask, I love it!! Just need some good weather to be able to use it.

not finished

After reading on lucylockets blog about not finishing things it made me think about all the unfinished things I had:

Still haven't sewn monkees ears on or his 'broken' arm.

still haven't finished stitching this.

bag still not finished

skirt still not finished, but that's not finished because I am waiting for some spotty fabric to be delivered and then I will get on with it. Just not enough hours in the day, I don't know how everyone else gets sooo much done, I have so many good ideas and intentions but I still don't get to do even half of them. Tomorrow is another day!!

Bunny swap

Today I got my bunny swap parcel that Lucylocket organised, mine was from Kae at a journey into the unknown blog. This is what Kae sent me:

monkees outing and accident

Today monkee went on an outing, first we strapped him in the car.

Then we saw some lovely sights

Then monkee climbed a tree

Then monkee had an accident and fell out the tree

His arm came off......ok go back to picture one, it was hanging off here.

So then monkee had to be carried

Went to monkee hospital and had an anasthetic....had arm sewn back on and ears sewn on....he can now hear ( must be careful what I say now)

sorry not a good photo...and I'm lying his arm and ears are only pinned on because I am way too busy finishing bunnies and cards.

new skirt

I do not know where the week has gone. I must have been busy but not sure what I have been doing. Well I have been doing the secret bunny:

Cannot show more than this because it will spoil the surprise.

I bought this skirt in a kit and have been putting it together,  hope to have it finished soon but i really want to add some spotty fabric at the bottom, but cann ot find what I want. Does anyone know where I can get some fabric with a blue background and coloured dots/ spots on it, not too big a spot, very small in fact. If you do please let me know, thank you. show you more when it's done.

not enough hours

I do not have enough hours in the day, I do not know how so many of you out there get soo much done. I have no pictures to show because I have been working on my bunny swap with lucylocket so cannot show that as it would spoil the surprise. had to go to parent evening, so no work done and the day has gone, and the week is going fast too. Too much time  looking at other blogs and too much time leaving comments on other blogs! back with photos tommorrow...I hope. Things to do... sew ears on monkee, finish bunny, make card for easter swap, tidy workroom, etc. etc. etc.

Legless!

I have been busy working on my wip I don't think the photo does it justice, the light wasn't good. She looks a bit big, like alice in wonderland, with the huge Alice annd small house. Maybe she needs an 'eat me' biscuit. She also needs some legs.

Hope this shows the stitches a bit better than the first piccie.

I've been hand stitching which I don't often do, but which I love doing. Haven't got too far with it as I've been very tired today. Hope you've all had a good weekend.

new fabric AND sewing

I went to a quilt show today with my Mum, she loves to make patchwork quilts. It has never really been my thing, well that's not strictly true, years ago I started patchworking and never did much and then my Mum started and never stopped!! Anyway I still like looking, and especially looking for fabric, which is what I did today. But I didn't just look!

I bought this little lot, and this:

Oh dear I need therapy. But I was inspired to make this wip.

Can't believe I got some sewing done, will hope to show more tomorrow and then there's the wabbit to get done and the card and the gocco to work out how to use and still not enough hours in the day. Have a good weekend everyone.

Lily's new cardi and naughty monkee

I haven't done much sewing this week, I do not know where the time is going. Nicky from www.thevintagemagpie sent this for Lily:

She looks gorgeous in it and it is keeping her warm as it has been quite chilly today.

My youngest has taken it upon himself to make the monkee do naughty things.

He has taken the sweeties without asking. Naughty Monkee. He still has no ears so maybe he didn't hear anyone saying NO, I just think he has selective hearing. I must get sewing over the weekend, I'm not going to do any tomorrow as I'm going to a quilt show with my Mum. hope to get some nice fabrics and inspiration!!

Gocco and monkees

I don't know where the time goes but I seem to get through the hours with little to show for it. Yesterday something arrived in the post, this:

It is a gocco printer, I do not know when i will find the time to do it, read the instructions, watch the video or think about what I might print, probably when there are another 24 hours in a day. I wasn't going to blog today as I had nothing to show but then I noticed my boys had been using my camera and I found this on it:

I think he's having quite a feast. No wonder there's no apples left, hey monkee, monkees eat bananas not apples. Oh he probably can't hear me, he still has no ears, poor thing.

I love this too and I managed to sew and stuff quite a lot of the monkee and he is not so ugly now. He has no ears yet. But he has been up to mischief he stole my mother's day chocolate
