yummy spotty fabric

I only ordered some fabric from buttonberry on Thursday and was suprised when I got this:

And inside was this:

OOh I just love the spotty fabric, so I added some other fabric I already had and cut this lot out.

It looks a mess but shortly when I manage to get to the shops to buy a couple of extra bits n bobs it will be a bag. Watch this space. I still haven't finished Clara Camel, she desperately wants to be finished but she's been taken over by other spotty, dotty fabric, I just can't resist, I may need help for my obsession!

Monkee business and cupcakes

This arrived this morning, I ordered it from shimandsons sale.

Dsc_0887_2

Isn't it fab?

Anyway i decided today I would make at least one purse/make-up bag and it went wrong i didn't have the right size zip. So I went out to buy some and then I put it in the wrong way round, so  gave up on that one as I have to unpick it.

So plan 2 monkee fabric and yellow polka dots. Here is purse/make-up bag effort 2.

I want to keep it but it has to go in the etsy shop soon. Bye bye monkee purse.

not well and no pictures

I  am not feeling too good as I have shingles and I am feeling very tired. So today I put loads of stuff on ebay as I was too tired for anything else but I plan to do some sewing tomorrow. i am determined to get more sewing done but it always seems like there is some other chore to do. I also have to finish tidying my studio from moving it. I should really do a big sort out but right now that seems too big a task. The other thing I've been doing today is looking at inspiring blogs, always cheeres me up. So If i say I will sew tomorrow I had better keep my word. Watch this space and sorry for the lack of piccies.

Not much work done

Oh dear A sorry state of affairs as far as work is concerned as I had to take my car in to be serviced and then work out how to use the courtesy car, which was like a space machine, it had an automatic hand brake which didn't seem quite right. I seemed like such a blonde (sorry all you blondes out there! )when the guy was explaining how to work the car.I then had to go and buy my boys new boxers and then shopping and then sorting some stuff to sell and then collect the car again. Well I was glad to get my baby back I can work that one well. so there's been no time but while I was sorting some stuff I found this quote I found somewhere before and thought it was great and I would share it.

I think I was doing plan B. So hopefully another day sewing will get done. Clara is getting impatient for her pink spotty bow.

camel wip

I have been working on this camel, I think it will be a 'she as I found some gorgeous spotty pink ribbon that will go around her neck. She is lacking a tail and needs a minor alteration. She will be appearing in my etsy shop soon along with some other goodies. All will be revealed soon. But here is Camel Clara.

Dsc_0815

The left side.

Dsc_0820

The right side. Ooh Clara is that your best side?

Dsc_0821

Why yes it is my best side, do you think I need eyelashes?

I can't wait for my lovely pink spotty ribbon too.

Maybe my maker will finish me soon. Ha ha ha!

Wip for today

My lovely stash of linen arrived today one lot via the postie and then about five minutes later another lot arrived by parcel van. On elot came wrapped in red paper with spotty sticky tape which was just up my street ( 'cos I love dots 'n' spots ) and the second lot wrapped in green paper with gorgeous Miffy sticky tape. How cute, I would show you but I was in such a hurry to get into the parcel it's not really 'showable' now. Sorry. But this is what was inside.

Dsc_0791

gorgeous goodies.

And now this is what I am making with the spotty fabric from yesterday.

Dsc_0792

Well she/he will be a camel when it's finished. Cannot decide on eye shapes yet. Will probably be a girl as I want her to have long eyelashes or can boys have long eyelashes? Anyway didn't get too far in making it as I had to stop to make dinner and then clear up and then sort children and phone calls and, and, and too tired now. there is always tomorrow. x

New fabric

Went fabric shopping today, well didn't go specifically for fabric but I got lucky when I looked in the fabric shop at the remnants. I found some odd bits of linen.

Dsc_0788

And then while looking I found a small piece of spotty needlecord, when I asked if they had more, they did, and in the opposite colourway as well. So I bought loads of it! not sure what I am doing with it yet but it is nice to stroke!!

Dsc_0787

Finished my Valentine swap work today but cannot show what I have been doing or Cheryl might see it, so you will have to wait and see. Nothing else to say today as secrets have to be kept.

I must start posting blogs more!

I must start blogging more, I must get off my lazy backside and do blogging as I have just agreed to take part in http://lucylocketrecycledherpocket.blogspot.com valentine swap.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to make myself do something with a deadline, instead of floundering around in procrastination land. I spend too much time looking at other people's blogs instead of working. MUST try harder.

I have been busy moving my studio, which is why I have not been 'sewing working' because you can't work when you can't find anything, can you?

Here is my old studio

Dsc_0657_5

Dsc_0660

Here is my new studio: somewhat smaller, therefore trying to cram a quart in a pint pot.

Dsc_0758_3

But I can't do much work until it's tidy and I know where everything is. But I am working on it. I had to go and but a new kettle today as my old one broke,it is a gorgeous Alessi one, one of my boys said I had to have a 'cool' kettle as everything else in the kitchen was 'cool' except the kettle. It was a 'boring old' morphy richards, so I took his advise and bought this lovely species of kettle!!

Dsc_0766

He came home from school and agreed it WAS COOL! not bad for a young boy, like mother like son, good taste follows in the family. He has the good taste gene.

Anyway after i bought the kettle I decided enough tidying I should make something. On Friday I went to a craft fair and bought lots of goodies, paper, fabric crafty stuff and I bought some lolerly Amy Butler paper so I made this book.

Dsc_0770

Now I have started the blog again I will try my hardest to blog on a regular basis it will get my backside in gear and boy does it need getting in gear. So no excuses now and I have to get on with making my valentine swap.
